Our History

Established

The ministry was established in 2021 by Mark and Theresa Wollschlager as a way to serve the Fannin County community.

Abundance of Food
In 2021 our garden produced an abundance of food. We were blessed with the amount of food that was raised so we decided to share with others in the community. We gave away bushels of vegetables to Family Connections and other partners in the community.
Began Serving Hot Meals

In Sept. of 2023, we began serving hot meals in addition to donating produce. In 6 months we have provided 1260 meals to members of the Fannin County community.

About the Founders

Mark grew up on the farm that grew Durham wheat and raised cattle. Theresa is a city girl from St. Paul Minnesota. They met at her younger sister’s wedding.

In 2005 Mark and Theresa responded to God’s call to grow their family of 6 through the gift of adoption. Their two oldest daughters were completing their undergraduate degrees and their two sons at home were 13 and 5 years old. Their journey to adopt led them to Ukraine.

In November of 2007 after an arduous 2 year process their 3 new sons returned to their new home and family in Marietta, Georgia.

At the end of their 30-day stay in Ukraine Mark and two of his new sons were detained for an additional 10 days due to the required waiting period of the adoption process’.

The delay caused his unsympathetic employer to decide not to renew his contract.

Since it was only by God’s grace that Mark and Theresa were able to grow their family they trusted that He would also provide everything their family of now 9 would need to thrive.

Theresa shares:

“With 5 growing boys, we had a great need for food and not much money as Mark was unemployed for an additional five months. I vividly recall kneeling at my bedside and crying to God for help.

As He always has, He so lovingly provided for all of our family’s needs as an answer to those prayers through caring and generous friends and family and help from our church family, our Heavenly Father sustained us through a very challenging time and this experience became the inspiration to share our abundance with others in need.”

In 2011 and 2012 God chose Mark and Theresa to grow their family again. This time they were called to Latvia to complete their family with a daughter and another son.
